  • End Of An Era: WRX STi Final Edition

“Greatness in a car is rare. Achieving legendary status is exceptional. This is the final edition of the 2.5i WRX STI Type UK. Limited to just 150 vehicles, it celebrates the pinnacle of Subaru’s competition-driving performance. Each car will feature an exterior ‘Final Edition’ badge on the door panel and a numbered interior badge to celebrate the last build volume of these iconic cars.”

Yes, Subaru fans, you read that right. The iconic WRX STi is saying farewell after Subaru have announced the Final Edition is to be launched in to the UK with a limited run of just 150 vehicles.

WRX History

Those of you that are young enough to remember 1994 when the WRX STI (formerly the Impreza) burst onto the World Rally stages, made famous by none other than Colin McRae, and gave birth to one of the fiercest rivalries in automotive history between two rally-bred saloon cars, with the Mitsubishi Lancer.

WRX STi Features

The Final Edition WRX STi still holds on tight to that heritage but has been updated and jammed packed with the latest and safest technology the Subaru engineers can cram into the chassis. It’s still got; four-wheel drive, the 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine which punches out 300hp and 407Nm of torque and will propel you to 62mph in 5.2 seconds (on pretty much any surface!).

Upgrades have come in the form of 19” lightweight alloy wheels; which house new, larger Brembo brakes and improvements to the centre differential, which is now fully electronic. There are also a whole host of styling upgrades and changes, to make sure when you see one in your rear-view mirror you know to move over, including; new front bumper with more aggressive air scoops, LED lighting and a new rear spoiler.
